Dear blog,
Hi. I’m back. From a two-month hiatus. How you been? First of all, I wanna apologize for not giving you much attention. I’ve been pretty busy with some personal shit. I know I told you I was gonna try to write more often, but ever since 2011 came in, I’ve been sulking over the fact that my parents and two siblings will be moving to the US. And they did, last February 14th. I know, sad really. The house just went quiet all of a sudden. It’s only been four days and I miss them already.
Last February 11, I lost a gig writing basketball articles for betED.com. It was kind of like my bread and butter and my employer chose to replace me with another writer based in Canada. So yeah, I lost that. A downer. So there I was, sitting in front of my laptop with nothing. What’s worse is I’ll be going on a trip with my brother to Hong Kong on the last week of March and I was counting on that sportswriting gig to haul in the pocket money I’d need. I was without work for seven days. In the effort of going forward, I did what any unemployed person would do and looked for another job. Yesterday, I got me a new one. Yes, GOD IS GOOD. And this morning, I received another email for another job. Can you believe it? He closes doors to open new ones. Amazing, actually. I’m excited for both jobs.
In other news, I miss my friends. I haven’t been seeing them the past weeks (or months) coz I’ve been too busy spending time with my family. I hope to see them soon, though. I want to go out. No wait, I NEED to go out. I need to see the city. I need to see new people. I need to see new things. Things I can laugh about. Things I can cuss about.
What now? Well… I plan to read more. And I plan to write better. How? I don’t know.
But I’ll keep writing.
