I just got home from Soderno. And man am I *burp* full.
It was Soderno’s opening night. We came in around 6:30PM and the place was already packed. People of all sorts swarmed the place. Everybody trying to get a glimpse of what these Soderno vendors had to offer. My niece, McKenzie, was getting hungry so we strolled around a bit, then bought the food we wanted to try.
I ordered two trays of mini-tacos (Php 100) from Taclings, which were pretty intriguing because of the colors and the egg trays they were placed in. We also ordered a hamburger (Php 180) from Big Bob’s Charcoal Grilled Burgers, a roast beef meal (Php 140) and a rib-eye steak meal with potato salad (Php 275).
Most customers lined up for burgers, Manang’s Chicken and the ihaw-ihaw station. Loads of people kept coming in. Tables were getting harassed.
We had a brief chat with RJ Ledesma, sharing how he’s all stressed out about the first night, and how they didn’t anticipate the traffic going to Alabang since some of the vendors arrived late. Then he thanked us for coming.
The food was great. Lots of pretty girls as well. A few concerns though. I wish they had a few booths that served coffee or tea. Or milkshakes. The GuacTruck was missing, too. And I wasn’t able to to access their WiFi connection. But it’s only Soderno’s first night, I’m sure things will smooth out in the coming weeks. At least we finally have our own version of Mercato Centrale in the South.

Sorry for the crappy photos. It’s hard to take pictures when you’re getting nudged and pushed by hungry people. Fuck it, I’m just making excuses. I really suck at taking photos. Some photos c/o ahomethatmombuilt.wordpress.com.
