Yesterday, I was at The Establishment for my first event of 2012. BlackBerry ushered in the new year by introducing five new smartphones – the BlackBerry Bold 9790, BlackBerry Curve 9380, BlackBerry Torch 9810, BlackBerry Torch 9860 and the Pure White BlackBerry Bold 9900.
The launch was a little early and I came there a bit drowsy. I didn’t get much sleep the night before due to a piece I was working on. An article that was assigned to me by Mitch of Gadgets Magazine, who, by the way, was seated next to me at the cool table, along with Danee of Techie.com.ph and John (also of Gadgets Magazine).

Back to the phones. These five new BlackBerry devices run on the BlackBerry 7 OS and according to Francois Maheiu, RIM’s Senior Director of Product Management in Asia Pacific, all modes were made with the consumer in mind. The newest members of the BlackBerry 7 family are expected to be available from carriers and authorized retail stores in the country starting January 13.
