Movie Review: Battleship
Last night, several members of the media were invited to an advanced screening of the movie, Battleship. When I saw the trailer a month ago, I was a bit excited and intrigued. Any movie that involves a lot of explosions is a treat. Or so I thought.
The story was never great. Honestly, for a two-hour film, it was lame. Aside from the protagonist, no characters really developed. But the special effects were kick-ass. And the movie did captivate the audience with a lingering sense of hope.
There were no top-billed actors, too. You would think Liam Neeson would get most of the exposure, but he rarely came across the screen. If would’ve been awesome if went all Taken on those alien asses. Rihanna was in the movie, but she never sang. Which was a bummer. She did get busted in the face though. <insert Chris Brown flashback>
Battleship is far from being a blockbuster film, but Peter Berg did an alright job.
Giving it 3 stars.
